The wide territory of Sorico goes from the alluvial plan of "Pian di Spagna" to the coasts of Lake Como and Lake Mezzola, from the oasis of Pian di Spagna (200 metres above sea level) to Berlinghera mountain in the Lepontine Alps, which is 1930 metres high and offers a wide view over Valchiavenna, Val Codera, Valle dei Ratti, Valtellina, Upper Lake Como and Lepontine Alps.
For all these reasons, there are a lot of chances to go for walks or excursions in the middle of unpolluted nature, which becomes wilder and wilder as you move away from town centres in the valleys and go up to the mountains.
There are various degrees of difficulty for the excursions, from the easy Sunday walks in the town centre to the high level trekking of the Alta Via del Lario.
Everybody can find the track that better fits their own interests and physical capabilities: be careful not to exceed your own limits and to respect human and natural environments.
