Excursion to San Giovanni all’Archetto and San Fedelino
The arrival of this excursion is the oratory of San Fedelino; it starts from Casenda di Samolaco in Valchiavenna, accessible from Novate Mezzola following the Trivulzia road and the direction signs pointing to the crumblng church of San Giovanni dell’Archetto.
Here is the starting point of a well traced path, sometimes blocked by the remains of the floods of some streams coming down the mountains: it goes along flat or steep traits among woods and is flanked by Mera river.
At a certain point, there is the road that comes down from Alpe Teolo: by following the lower path, the thousand year old little oratory (that can be visited inside in the spring and summer weekends) appears in a few minutes of pleasant walk.
