Artistic heritage in the territory of Sorico dates back in distant times, when Pre-Roman populations lived in the valleys nearby. The Roman occupation and the creation of the parish of Olonio, left a lot of archeological finds (inscriptions, coins, columns), gathered in various museums or incorporated in successive buildings.
Christian buildings allow people to visit historically rich places, with suggestive views on Lake Como and Lake Mezzola, like the churches of Santo Stefano, San Miro, San Giovanni, San Bartolomeo and San Fedelino.
Ruins of no more existing buildings can be traced in past chronicles: there were the hospital of Calchera, the Monastery of the Humiliates, the castle of Sorico and one of the Vicedomini, all gone waste.
