Gera Lario is a perfect starting point for many itineraries in Valtellina (Costiera of the Cech, Val Lesina, Val Gerola), Valchiavenna (Valle dei Ratti, Valle Codera, Valle Bodengo, Madesimo, Val Bregaglia),
Switzerland (Mesolcina, Lugano, St. Moritz) and upon the lake Como mounts (High road of Lario, Path of the Regina, Paths of Legnone, Path of the piligrim, Via Regina).
Given the extreme variety of these travels, it is recomended always to have a good guidebook and a good map, to understand well ones' limits, to follow signals and meteo conditions: prudence is the best mate for nice travelling.
Many good guidebooks are available for the tourist, here are shown two easy walkings that can be done in each period of the year, remembering that che Gera Lario is divided into two different territories:v the first is the historic town on the lake shore; the second spreads in the Pian di Spagna, arriving at Sant'Agata.
