The History
This environment is a mirror of the typical Upper Western Lake Como, nearby the mouths of Mera and Adda rivers. Gera Lario is an ancient town of boatmen and fishermen and its origins go back to the Roman Age.
Its population not only practiced activities on the Lake, but it also practiced agriculture on the mountain at the back, and later it bred silkworms.
There are numerous frescoes of XVI XVII centuries representing holy subjects on the walls of the buildings overlooking the main square, which is situated along the state road Regina in the shade of planes trees.
The church of San Vincenzo, next to the river, keeps many traces of the past and is also very rich of lovely frescoes of the XVI century painted by various authors of the Lombard school.
Here you can find the bed & breakfast VacanzeNatura
