For those that want to sail, canoeing or kayaking have infinite possibilities to cross the lake and go up to the rivers Adda and Mera arriving until lake Mezzola.
Gera is a strategic point for start and arrival also for trekking fans: the high way of Lario runs around 2000 metres between S. Bartolomeo over Gera and Sorico until Menaggio and is an extremely interesting experience for expert trekkers.
It is easier to make the way of the monti lariani, a lower trekking (about 1000 m of average) between Tremezzo and Sorico-Gera Lario, to be made in 6 days for a total lenght of more than oltre 130 km that offers the possibility to see the lake in its all beauty.
More than easy, being always near the lake shore, so easy to access buses and cars, to make the ancient path of the Regina (Queen) between Como and Chiavenna, of which Gera Lario may be one of the stations of a route that allow to know the artistic and nature beauty of the towns directly on the lake.
Also, birdwatchers, mountain bikers and horse riders find many routes within the free paths of the Pian di Spagna in Gera, to be in contact with a nature that has found a compromise with man.
